In my mind it is only one way to earn money and that’s by being interested and having passion about what I do.
I always go in to a project by trying to know what the end user will benefit from what we are creating. In many cases this is not what clients have intended. Their initial idea is often good, but they mostly tend to think about the tangible parts of the project, for example collecting a big customer database. Having a big customer database is good. But what you offer your customers is where you will gain your real value.
This post is almost embarrassing to write since everything in it is so obvious. But isn’t it interesting how often this is forgotten? The endless possibilities with new technology make agencies focus on the “cool” stuff and makes people forget the real purpose of what´s created.
I know for a fact that by making your clients happy they will make you happy. It will earn you more money… money for a well done job, money that the end user is more than happy to pay because your work has been valuable for them.
If you don’t offer the end users something that’s valuable, they won’t be valuable to you.
